Quality Standards alignment: Safe and Supportive Environment; Skill Building; Diversity, access and equity; Quality Staff

Product Description

To thrive in school, work, and life in the 21st Century, young people need to be able to assess their own skills and behaviors, work with others, and persist in the face of challenges. Just as we want young people to be socially conscious citizens and well prepared for productive careers, staff must model social-emotional and character capacity. This session will introduce participants to social-emotional and character skills that expanded learning programs are well positioned to support, and their relationship to the Quality Standards for Expanded Learning Programs in California. Participants will be able to articulate what social-emotional learning and character skills look like in youth and identify strategies to create environments where young people believe, “I am, I belong and I can.”
