Meet Your Trainers

Gabriela B. Delgado (she/her/hers)
Founder/Owner, Saving Our Starfish, Chula Vista, CA

 

Gabriela B. Delgado has worked in education for over 23 years serving youth, families, schools, and community organizations with youth program design and implementation; student/family engagement; trauma responsive approaches; safety and crisis response. Gabriela is also a grant professional and has secured over $100M in funding. She has a Master of Arts in Education/Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University and a Master of Public Administration from San Diego State University. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and having fun with her dog! Her top five strengths are: Achiever, Discipline, Developer, Input, and Relator.

 

Daniel Hatcher (he/him/his)
Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Washington, D.C.

 

Daniel Hatcher is the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation where he has served since 2008. During his time at Healthier Generation, Daniel developed and led a national youth advisory board and helped create afterschool standards for healthy eating and physical activity. A nationally recognized workshop facilitator, he has spoken at education and youth development conferences in over 35 states and Canada. Daniel has a BA in International Relations and a Master of Public Health, both from Western Kentucky University.

 

Robert Illingworth (he/him/his)
Director of Inclusion, Woodcraft Rangers, Los Angeles, CA
 
With 15 years in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), person-centered planning, and service coordination, Robert is a leader in inclusive practices for expanded learning. His deep understanding of ABA allows him to navigate complexities with precision. Beyond professional expertise, Robert’s passion fosters Inclusivity, promoting Diversity and Accessibility for students of all abilities. In the dynamic expanded learning landscape, his extensive experience is invaluable, catalyzing positive change and setting a standard for excellence in creating equitable opportunities for all.

Matthew Mazon, an Inclusion Specialist at Woodcraft Rangers, brings over 8 years of experience supporting students with complex needs and serving as a field trainer in Long Beach. His dedication to aiding students of all ages with developmental disabilities is fueled by a genuine passion, nurtured through personal connections and extensive hands-on experience. Matthew’s expertise in behavioral therapy and unwavering commitment to positively impact the community have played a crucial role in advancing the organization’s mission of creating inclusive environments where all students can thrive.

Registration is open to attendees from counties within Region 6, including: Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne Counties.

We are unable to accept any registrations after this date. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN FULL by January 27, 2024, to secure the Legacy Summit Registration rate. Please review additional terms and conditions in your registration account.

Cancellation Policy

Attendees are not able to cancel Legacy Summit registration. ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND NON-REVERSIBLE. Please note we are unable to make exceptions for emergencies, extreme weather, pandemics, natural disasters, or labor strikes. However, attendee may send someone in attendee’s place, subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Health & Wellness

While vaccine verification or proof of negative test is no longer required, the State of CA strongly recommends that all participants be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending the event. Collaborative Solutions to Unsolved Problems

Many children facing concerning behaviors deal with the same 5 or 6 daily challenges, termed “Unsolved Problems.” This workshop guides addressing them through empathy, defining concerns, and collaborating with students for proactive solutions. 

 

Healing Centered Approaches for Educators

This session will provide participants with an overview of what trauma is and how it can impact the brain, learning, relationships, and much more. Participants will explore best practices and strategies for how best to understand, engage, and support students.  
Healing Centered Engagement

Healing Centered Engagement supports not only young people but also adult providers with their own healing. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to use the Healing Centered Engagement approach through its five CARMA Principles: Culture, Agency, Relationships, Meaning, and Aspiration.
