Meet Your Trainers

Joshua Faden (he/him/his)
President, Community of Teachers, Kensington, MD 

 

Joshua Faden is the founder and president of Community of Teachers, an education consulting company focused on helping students become enthusiastic and effective lifelong learners. He believes in the power of a supportive community of parents, caretakers, teachers, and professionals for each student’s success. Joshua offers training, technical assistance, and consultation to strengthen these communities and works one-on-one and in small groups with students globally. Author of “The Confidence Project” and “The Confidence Constellation Activities Handbook,” he enjoys Splotch Monster art and cooking with fresh garden produce.

 

Daniel Hatcher (he/him/his) 
Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Washington, DC

 

Daniel Hatcher is the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation where he has served since 2008. During his time at Healthier Generation, Daniel developed and led a national youth advisory board and helped create afterschool standards for healthy eating and physical activity. A nationally recognized workshop facilitator, he has spoken at education and youth development conferences in over 40 states and Canada. Daniel has a BA in International Relations and a Master of Public Health. In 2022, Daniel was certified in Mental Health First Aid and became a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide.

Registration is open to attendees from counties within Region 6, including: Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne Counties.

Cancellation Policy

Attendees are not able to cancel Legacy Summit registration. ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND NON-REVERSIBLE. Please note we are unable to make exceptions for emergencies, extreme weather, pandemics, natural disasters, or labor strikes. However, attendee may send someone in attendee’s place, subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Health & Wellness

The health and safety of our community are of the utmost importance and our goal is to provide a safe experience for everyone. We recommend that everyone conforms to their own comfort level which may include wearing a face mask throughout the conference facilities. We recommend regular hand washing, and using hand sanitizer throughout the event, and encourage you to communicate your social distancing comfort level with others.

Encouraging young people and their families to share their passion requires us to appreciate and acknowledge the unique facets of their lived experiences and identities. This interactive workshop will explore intentional ways to share power with youth and caregivers to create space for their ideas.

Empowering Educators, Empowering Students: Building Confidence by Learning to Overcome Challenges Together

Both educators and students face a myriad of challenges on a daily basis. This workshop is designed to equip expanded learning program leaders and staff with hands-on activities, strategies, and tools to navigate obstacles with confidence and resilience, fostering a supportive and empowering environment for themselves and their students.
